27 days until Las Vegas – I am so excited

The title says it all. In 27 days I am flying to Las Vegas. Yesterday I received my tickets and  my luggage tags. I also found out that my amazing friend Moni will join me for three days in Las Vegas. She lives and works in Houston and I haven’t seen her since February. We are currently planning things to do in Las Vegas, so if somebody has suggestions please let me know.

Return from Isola 2000, Trip to Monaco and finally being back to England

Yesterday morning I left Isola 2000 to get the 8am bus to Nice Airport. The bus from Isola 2000 to Nice Airport takes 2 hours and costs 1€ (luggage included). Unfortunately we did not know about this the week before when we arrived in Isola 2000 and we took a taxi which cost 250€ for eight persons including luggage. I had a wonderful week in Isola 2000, it is not the nicest resort to look at but the slopes are great especially for beginners. I arrived at 10am in Nice and my flight was not until 5:45pm so I decided to take the train to Monaco. I haven’t been to Monaco since April 2010 and it was great to see how much it changed. I had lunch with a friend and I visited the International University of Monaco where I would like to do my Master in Finance after my Bachelor in Banking and Finance. I had the chance to speak to a professor as well as to students and the Head of Admissions. All the people I spoke to have been incredibly friendly and I should add that I just turned up. I never exchanged an email with them nor did I have an appointment. They made me feel welcome and the Head of Admission gave me her business card. I was surprised to find out they there are two McDonalds in Monaco and that they have great public transport. Of course it is not a bad thing but I guess I will never get the picture out of my head where everybody in Monte Carlo gets driven by their private drivers in black Mercedes/Rolls Royce/Bentleys. You get the idea.

Skiing in Isola 2000

I’m going skiing to Isola 2000 next Friday for a week. It will be my third skiing break in 12 months and I can’t wait to go. My last skiing holiday was in Val D’Isere for eight days after Christmas and it was lovely to spend the New Years Eve in a chalet with oyster and champagne, looking at the snow outside and enjoying a rest after an exhausting day on the slopes.

I’m flying from Gatwick Airport to Nice with Easyjet and from Nice airport it is only a 50 minutes drive up to the resort. We will stay just next to the lifts at the residence Les Terrasses D’Azur. The hotel itself does not have a website but I have posted their entry on Eurobookings below.

A three bedroom flat at the Les Terrasses D’Azur costs £2945 for a week over the Easter holidays. The ski pass for seven days costs 136€ in the low season and 158.80€ in high season.

I will write more about Isola 2000 when I return from my holidays.

In love and light, NJE x

London

London was amazing. I had so much fun there. Just arriving in London made me the happiest person in the world. I wasn’t even bothered by the tourists. They usually annoy me a lot. On Saturday night I had dinner at the Inamo Restaurant. The restaurant is located on 134-136 Wardour Street in Soho. We walked there from our hotel which was just next to Piccadilly Circus. Heng  and I shared a bottle of wine. You have to know that Heng is not used to drinking wine a lot and after two glasses of wine for her the evening started to get hilarious. Unfortunately they did not have Black Cod Miso that night but the alternative was delicious too and the E-Touch menu is another reason why we will return to Inamo. Sunday morning we went to East London and had a little stroll on Spitalfields Market. We then went to have lunch in Chinatown and shopped on Regent’s Street. I miss the Lush shop there. We decided to get our hair done at Toni&Guy so we went to Covent Garden. Heng got a blow dry and I got my hair curled. We both looked absolutely amazing and couldn’t get quickly enough to the Nobu on Berkeley Street where we had dinner before we went back to Brussels. I certainly can’t wait to move back to London at the end of January. While we were in London we kept singing the song: You’re a whore by Sherry Vine. Naughty us!
