George and I received our membership back for Maggie&Rose today. I have previously posted about our first visit to the club. Maggie&Rose is located on 58 Pembroke Road, W8 6NX, Kensington, London. The members handbook includes all important information you need to know about the club and your membership. Maggie and Anna, the owners of M&R, welcome you on the first two pages in the handbook. Maggie talks about why exactly she started Maggie&Rose.
Not only did we receive our membership card but also five family guest passes and should we ever run out of them it costs £5 per adult and child to enter the club as a guest with a member. I think this is excellent. We also received a free trial pass for their classes and a voucher for a complimentary coffee and brownie. What an amazing way to welcome new members.
Unfortunately all they offer for lunch is Kiddie pasta and that is a strict no go for us. I can’t eat pasta and George doesn’t like it. My only option is also to pack lunch or go out for lunch to a local restaurant. The club is ideally located close to either Earl’s Court or High Street Kensington tube station or Kensington (Olympia) Overground station. The bus lines 328, C1, C3 and N31 run from just outside Maggie&Rose.
As soon as George has recovered from his surgery we will go to Maggie&Rose and hopefully spend a good few hours there.
The annual membership at Maggie&Rose costs £650.
George and I had a wonderful day in Kensington with my friend. George is very keen on her as she always spoils him. We met at Imperial Wharf where she lives and drove to South Kensington where we parked and from the minute we got out of the car, George only had eyes for Uschi, as we call her. He is already a ladies man.
We bought Red Velvet Cakes from the Hummingbird Bakery on 47 Old Brompton Road and we then went for a ‘coffee’ at La Bottega on 97 Old Brompton Road. We actually didn’t have coffee and ordered sparkling water ‘San Pellegrino’ and ‘San Bennedetto’ Peach ice tea instead. George loved it a lot as you can see in the picture. He also loved being carried around by my friend, as he usually has to walk when he is with me. Lucky him.
We then headed to Maggie&Rose in Pembroke Road, W8. Maggie&Rose is a private members club for families. It is wonderful. In 2011 I went for my friend’s boy’s birthday party and I didn’t actually know it was THE Maggie&Rose club.
Georgie Porgie, Puddin’ and Pie,
Kissed the girls and made them cry,
When the boys came out to play
Georgie Porgie ran away.
Does anybody know this English nursery rhyme? I started singing it to George once in a while ever since my neighbour Louise told me about it. Her daughter sings it to George too. I was very pleased to find the picture on the wall. It is lovely, as everything else at M&R.
Will we join Maggie&Rose? I think the picture says it all.
